Girls U13 Challenge Rules:
- 8 Players in a team. Note: both teams can play with 10 players by prior arrangement between managers. The number of players shall be confirmed at the toss.
- All players should wear full protective equipment while batting against a hardball.
- Teams will have the choice to play with either a 4 3⁄4 Hardball or a Junior Incrediball/Aeroball. The two teams should confirm ahead of time the choice of balls. Where teams cannot agree, the use of a junior incrediball/aeroball should be used.
- Each team starts with 200 runs when batting.
- Each inning will last for 16 overs if an 8-player match or 20 if a 10-player match.
- Players bat for a total of 4 overs in pairs
- 5 runs deducted for each lost wicket – Batter should change ends on the fall of a wicket, (the Batter out does not face the next ball).
- Wides and No Balls count as a penalty of two runs, in addition to any runs scored. No extra ball will be bowled except in the last over when Wides and No Balls count as a penalty of one run.
- Bowlers are limited to Max of 3 overs each.
- Even if wearing a helmet, no player can field within 11 yards of the middle stump, except behind the wicket on the offside, until the striker has played the ball.
- Managers may umpire, and some coaching is allowed.
- The boundary should be no less than 40 yards from the middle of the pitch which shall be 17 yards long. Stumps should be the junior type (27” x 8”).
- Bowling should be from one end if possible and this should be stated by the home team at the toss. In this case the Batter will change ends at the end of every over but note rule 5. It is recommended that fielders rotate.
- It is recommended, that all matches are live scored, so that the Results to be published on Play Cricket.
- All fixtures to be played by the Sunday 1st September.
