Timetable
U9, U11 & Girls | 17:00-18:30 |
U13 & U15 | 18:30-20:00 |
Please note we may adapt these timings to ease pressure on car parks.
Food & Drink
Food will be available at the Club. Orders will need to be placed at the start of your child's session and then picked up at the end on boxes. Our bar will also be open throughout.
Parking
Due to ongoing building work the car park will be tight. Please drive slowly onto site as we do currently have a blind corner and juniors will be walking with parents to the club. We would ask, if you can, to walk, cycle or car share allowing an ease of both parking and the environment. If we do have the car park full we have permission to use the Walter Arms. When in effect you will be able to drop off your child at the Club, park at the Walter Arms and then walk to the Club. Parking on Sadler's End is strictly prohibited.
Arrival
Once parked, all access to the Lower Oval where training will take place will be using the external staircase to the left of the Pavillion. No kit bags should be taken through the Club. Due to building works, the usual access route is narrower than usual and so a one-way system will be in place. Players should head straight to the Lower Oval for registration with their team manager. Parents or guardians should stay at the Club for the duration of the training session. There will be a welcome meeting led by Junior Chairman, Paul Tatum, in the Bar so please head here during your child's session.
Registration
It is not too late to sign up! However, you must promptly register for an account on our website. The parent/guardian should register for an account first and then add their children as sub-accounts off this main account. See this guide here for a guide on how to do this.
We also run a private WhatsApp community for Junior Parents/Guardians. Please speak to your team manager to be added to this group.
Kit
Please dress your player in weather appropriate training clothes. Apply insect repellent to your players as the outfield does have midges occasionally. Each player should have a named water bottle to keep them hydrated.
If you have old kit you are willing to donate to the club to sell or if you wish, sell yourself please bring it with you to any of the first four Fridays. We will have a kit sale on the balcony for these sessions. If you would like to sell it yourself please label it with the price you would like and your mobile number.
Playing/Volunteering Yourself
We run a family discount scheme. So if you catch the cricket bug from being at the club, you can apply to be a senior player on the same website. Adult Training (depending on team) is a Tuesday or Thursday. We would recommend new players attend a Thursday first and start from here. If you want to know more speak to Paul or a Team Manager who will be able to help. We are also always looking from Umpires, Scorers or General Volunteers to help across both Junior and Senior Sections. Training can always be provided so please again speak to Paul or a Team Manager to get involved!
Sponsors
The club is always seeking additional sponsors who in return for their financial support of the club's running can find a community centric approach to advertising their business or cause. Email info@wokinghamcricketclub.co.uk to discuss more.
